Weekends Art Residency at Fabrik Studio in Hamburg Hamm
Last year I started hosting “lockdown weekends” at my studio at Fabrik der Künste and invited a few fellow artists to create with me over the entire two days, and sometimes nights :) The realization was that the energy of the group was much powerful than the one of creating alone. I already wrote about it in the past here.
We would eat together, chat, exchange, support and celebrate each other. If things were not going in the direction we wanted or we would feel stuck in the middle of an artist block we would be there for one another.
I want more of that. I decided to put together my first art residency to create a supportive environment where we can experiment while feeling supported.

I love commitment and creativity under pressure. This might be not for everyone but I believe that many blockages and struggles we artists face come from our lack of commitment and procrastination. During this three months residency you are invited to show up every weekend to create and put all the excuses aside.

Not at all. It is for everyone that wants to set up a challenge for themselves, to show up and grow and observe the development of how to express what is inside. Each person joining shall choose their own intention for this journey. I believe that the mix of people with different skills and experience is what will make the group dynamic much more exciting.

Surely I am there for you. In the past 8 years I have been creating and building a strong network of creators, collectors and interesting people with good heart and passion for the arts. I have exhibited, mentored and monetized my life as artist in countless ways. Some worked, others did not work at all. I am glad to share with you my experiences.

The group will be getting shaped according to the needs. We might gather for food and exchange blockages, I might invite experts in a certain topic to inspire us…. everything can happen! So yes, there will be some sort of program but you have to trust that it will be written as we move along together.

All artistic journeys shall be acknowledged and shared. By the end, it is my wish to give us the opportunity to host a open atelier weekend and invite people to be part of our development and, hopefully, inspire them with our way of seeing and experiencing the world. In the end you might realize you want to set up your own solo exhibition, maybe you close a chapter, maybe you get a huge opportunity and you quit your part time job. Remember, the end is the beginning is the end.

The residency has a price of 666 Euro per month (VAT included).
There is a grant for materials available that will be discussed on the first weekend the program starts. -
